Product Description

DARATARD® P88 admixture is an aqueous dark brown solution of selected hydroxylated organic compounds. It is ready-to-use since the ingredients are factory pre-mixed in exact proportions to minimise handling, eliminate mistakes and guesswork. Daratard P88 complies with the chemical admixture specifications for concrete: SS 320:1987.

One litre weighs approximately 1.13kg ± 0.02kg.

Application

Daratard P88 provides better slump retention than normal retarding admixtures, and retards the initial and final set of concrete throughout the recommended dosage range. In the recommended dosage range, Daratard P88 also gives water reduction of typically 8% to 12%.

Daratard P88 admixture is recommended for use in all concrete where superior workability, extended setting times and pumpability quality are desired in applications, e.g., hot weather concreting application, large volume concrete pours.

Packaging

Daratard P88 is available in bulk and 205L drums. Daratard P88 may freeze at a temperature below -2ºC. If frozen, thaw it till it is completely dissolved with mechanical agitation before use. Daratard P88 contains no flammable ingredients.

Addition Rates

Daratard P88 dosage ranges are recommended to be between 300 and 600mL /100kg of cementitious materials. The actual amount of Daratard P88 to be used will depend on the extension of setting time required under the different job conditions. Longer setting times or higher temperatures will typically require higher addition rates. Conversely, the addition rates will be lesser for shorter extensions of time. Consult your local GCP representative for assistance in determining the dosage rate for optimum performance.

Compatibility with Other Admixtures

Daratard P88 admixture is compatible in concrete with all other admixtures from GCP Applied Technologies. Daratard P88 admixture can be used alone as a single admixture or in combination with other admixtures to achieve cost-effective customised performance. If used in combination with other admixtures, each admixture should be added separately
